Salepur: Three persons were killed and over 20 sustained critical injuries as a passenger bus collided head on with a truck at Katarapada chhak in Nischintakoili of Cuttack district this morning.
As per reports, the accident occurred when the bus coming from Kendrapara to Cuttack. Due to dense fog, the driver of the bus could not notice the truck on the road and crashed the vehicle into it. As a result, three persons were killed and over 20 persons were seriously injured.
The injured persons have been admitted to the Nischintakoili Community Health Center for treatment. Some of them have been referred to Cuttack. The rescue operation has been launched to save the people. Locals first heard the sound of the collision and rushed there to rescue the passengers.
On intimation, police and the fire service personnel rushed there to rescue the people. One person declared dead in the hospital while others are undergoing treatment. Further details regarding this are awaited.
