CM Naveen Announces Various Welfare Schemes For Puri Srimandir Servitors

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced various schemes for the welfare of Puri Srimandir servitors (sevayats).

The schemes include an increase in the amount of various allowances health insurance and coaching arrangements for the entrance examinations of the students from servitors’ families. All these welfare schemes are being implemented by the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA).

5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman Karthik Pandian has visited Puri many times to review the Shree Mandira Parikrama project and various developmental works. On this occasion, the sevayats apprised him about their various problems. Considering the proposals, the Chief Minister announced various schemes for the welfare of the sevayats.

According to the announcement, the health insurance coverage for sevayats of Shree Jagannath Temple and their family members has been increased from Rs. 2 lakh to Rs. 5 lakh. An additional Rs 5 lakh will be provided for the treatment of critical illnesses.

Similarly, for students from sevayats families, a maximum of 3 times assistance of Rs. 50,000 per year will be provided for coaching on various entrance exams such as NEET, JEE and Civil Services.

A total of Rs 10.85 crores has been provided by the State Government to the SJTA for various enhanced allowances, health insurance, coaching and other assistance to the employees.
