Koraput: As many as five persons were injured in a car accident at Langalapakhana ghat road while they were returning from a marriage function in Koraput’s Boipariguda.
According to sources, the family attended the marriage function held at a village within Boipariguda block this afternoon and was en route to Pandripanthi village in Malkangiri when the accident took place.
The family was moving in a car when the vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a 20-feet-deep gorge at Langalapakhana ghat road while the vehicle driver was trying to give way to an ambulance, sources said.
Following the crash, the couple and their two minor daughters, and the driver, were seriously injured.
On intimation from passersby, Boipariguda police reached the spot and rushed the injured to Boipariguda Hospital for treatment.
