Bhubaneswar: Despite repeated appeal and order by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), many defaulters have been found in different marketplaces of the city.
Designated authorities have found them violating norms like littering the nearby areas, not keeping double dustbins of proper size and being resistant to following the norms.
In three administrative zones of the city, nearly an amount of Rs.65,000 has been collected along with warnings. During the last two days, about 100 units have been visited by the staff of BMC to ensure strict adherence to Solid Waste Management Rule, 2016.
Team BMC in the SW zone collected Rs.21,200 whereas SE Zone and North zone collected 18,500 and 25,000 respectively.
For the safety of city life and the promotion of hygiene, sanitation and aesthetics, the city authority will be doing intensive checking along with awareness.
