A fierce political controversy has erupted following student activist Neha Bora’s controversial remarks regarding religious institutions and the caste system, drawing sharp criticism from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The dispute began after Bora, a leader of the All India Students’ Association (AISA), made sweeping allegations while backing an impeachment resolution against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. During her address, Bora claimed that women require protection from the “Brahmanical system” and alleged that instances of sexual assault occur within temple premises by priests.
Hitting back strongly, BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari accused Bora of slandering Sanatan Dharma and echoing a long-standing “anti-Hindu” narrative driven by the Congress party.
Neha Bora poster girl of Rahul Gandhi displays her Hindu hate!
Says-“Pujaris rape in temple”
She is inspired from Rahul Gandhi who earlier had said “Mandiro main ladkiyon ke sath ched chad hoti hai”.
Congress Hates Hindus, loves vote bank!
Congress Soch is a threat to India’s unity!

Bhandari drew parallels between Bora’s statements and previous comments made by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi regarding women’s safety and religious places. He further asserted that such rhetoric aims to target the unity and integrity of the nation by disparaging traditional social structures.
Bora’s statements referenced past high-profile legal cases, including the 2018 Kathua incident. However, her sweeping generalisations against an entire community have triggered widespread backlash across political and social media platforms. Critics and online forums emphasised that while individual perpetrators must face strict legal action, using systemic accusations to vilify an entire community damages public discourse and politicises the critical issue of women’s safety.
