Passenger bus accident at Bolgarh Gopabandhu Chack: 5 critical, 13 injured
A passenger bus met with an accident at Bolgarh Gopabandhu Chack on National Highway No. 57 of Balangir-Khorda in Khurda district on Monday afternoon.
As a result, a total of 13 passengers, including the driver and helper, were injured and 5 of them are critical. All the injured and critical were admitted to Bolgarh Community Health Center for treatment, while the 5 critically injured were shifted to Bhubaneswar Capital Hospital by ambulance for further treatment.
The incident took place at 4 pm today, while the passenger bus named ‘Narayani’ was en route to Nayagarh from Bhubaneswar, the bus suddenly dashed to the roadside barrier at Bolgarh Gopabandhu Chhak. At a result, the front part of the bus was stuck in the ditch, while the rear part was on the roadside.
Upon receiving information from locals, the fire brigade and 108 ambulances arrived and rescued the passengers from the crashed bus. All the injured were admitted to the Bolgarh Community Health Center for treatment.
