Berhampur witnessed a major update in the MV Constable Ashutosh Mrudangia burn case as the bail order copy surfaced.
The order relates to allegations of dowry harassment and pregnancy loss filed against him.
The Sessions Judge’s court in Berhampur noted that investigators failed to produce strong evidence supporting the charges. The order stated that the injuries and marks on Ashutosh’s wife, Sandhya, were minor and did not indicate any impact on her pregnancy.
Ashutosh’s sister demanded a CBI probe into the case, insisting that only a thorough investigation could deliver justice to the family. Meanwhile, Sandhya has not issued any response to the bail order.
The case has drawn widespread attention, with conflicting claims from both sides. While Ashutosh’s family maintains that the allegations lack merit, Sandhya’s supporters continue to press for accountability.
The bail order copy has intensified debate over the handling of sensitive domestic violence and dowry-related cases. Legal experts stressed that courts require clear, corroborated evidence before denying bail in such matters.
