Bhubaneswar witnessed a shocking incident when two trains came face-to-face on the same track near Jharpada Bridge.
A passenger train collided with a train moving for cleaning operations late Wednesday night.
One train was heading from Bhubaneswar to Mancheswar, while the other was returning from Mancheswar to Bhubaneswar. The collision occurred on a single track, sparking questions about how signals allowed both trains to move simultaneously.
Both loco pilots escaped unharmed, and passengers remained safe. The train moving for cleaning carried no passengers, preventing casualties. Authorities confirmed that the accident did not result in injuries, but the incident raised serious concerns about railway signalling and operational safety.
Railway officials seized control of the situation quickly and ensured that services resumed without disruption. However, the Bhubaneswar train collision triggered public debate on safety protocols and accountability.
