Union Home Minister Amit Shah has strongly condemned the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which left at least 12 tourists injured.
He vowed to ensure severe consequences for the attackers and announced that he would be traveling to Srinagar for an urgent security review meeting.
“Anguished by the terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. My thoughts are with the family members of the deceased. Those involved in this dastardly act of terror will not be spared. We will come down heavily on the perpetrators with the harshest consequences,” Shah posted on X.
He further stated that he had already briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on an official visit to Saudi Arabia, and held a video conference with key officials.
“Will shortly leave for Srinagar to hold an urgent security review meeting with all the agencies,” Shah confirmed.
Security forces are continuing operations in the area as the Centre gears up for a tough response to the attack that targeted civilians in a popular tourist destination.
