Indian Railways has announced a temporary augmentation of coaches in several important express trains to provide more comfortable travel facilities and accommodate the surge in passenger demand during the upcoming week.
From August 15 to 21, 2026, Train No. 12837 Howrah–Puri Express will be strengthened with one Sleeper Class coach. Similarly, Train No. 18030 Shalimar–Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express will receive one 3rd AC and one Sleeper Class coach during the same period.
On August 16, Train No. 18039 Shalimar–Puri Express will be augmented with two Sleeper Class coaches, while Train No. 18045 Shalimar–Charlapalli Express will carry an additional 3rd AC coach between August 15 and 21.
Further, Train No. 18063 Santragachi–Yelahanka Express will be provided with one 3rd AC coach on August 20, and Train No. 18107 Rourkela–Jagdalpur Express will be augmented with one Sleeper Class coach on August 15 and 16.
Railway officials stated that the move is aimed at easing travel for passengers during peak demand, ensuring additional berths on busy routes. The augmentation will help manage the growing rush of commuters and provide more flexibility for travelers.
