The Government of Odisha has notified a new fare structure for the “Super Premium Fully Sleeper A.C. Coach” category of stage carriage buses operating within the state.
The Commerce and Transport Department issued the notification on July 9, 2026, prescribing a maximum fare of Rs 3.50 per kilometre per passenger or berth.
The Technical Committee constituted by the State Transport Authority fixed the fare, which takes effect from the date of publication in the Odisha Gazette. The department clarified that fares for existing categories—Ordinary, Express, Deluxe, Deluxe A.C., and Super Premium seaters—remain unchanged.
The new fare applies exclusively to fully sleeper A.C. coaches, excluding town buses. All other conditions under the earlier 2021 notification, including concessions, free luggage limits, rounding of fares, and passenger safeguards, will apply to the new category.
The notification mandates that operators must not charge passengers beyond the prescribed rate. The State Transport Authority and Regional Transport Authorities will ensure compliance through permit endorsement, display, ticketing, and enforcement.
The government will review the fare after receiving the Technical Committee’s report on overall bus fare revision for 2026 or any subsequent revision mechanism.
