Police recovered the blood-soaked body of Dayanidhi Ghibhela (50), a contract worker from Ghivela Pada under Gandapatrapali Panchayat, in Saintala area of Bolangir district on Tuesday.

Family members alleged that he was murdered in a planned attack.

Dayanidhi worked at the canteen of a local ammunition factory. Relatives reported him missing since Monday night. On Tuesday morning, villagers discovered his body near a mahua tree behind Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir in Badmal.

Bolangir SP Abhilash G, Titlagarh SDPO Yashobanta Pradhani, and Saintala IIC Khagapati Biswal reached the spot with a scientific team and sniffer dogs to begin the investigation. Police registered a case under Saintala PS No. 182/26 and sent the body to Titilagarh for post-mortem examination.

Investigators collected evidence from the scene and questioned locals. Authorities suspect the murder may be linked to personal or workplace disputes. Police confirmed that no suspects have been identified yet, but multiple angles are under investigation.
