The Directorate of Higher Secondary Education launched the second phase of Induction Training for Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) at IMAGE, Siripur, Bhubaneswar, under the School and Mass Education Department.
Around 120 PGT teachers from Government Higher Secondary Schools and Government Upgraded Higher Secondary Schools across Odisha joined the programme.
The inaugural session featured Smt. Smita Rout, SPD, OAVs, Smt. Niyati Pattnaik, Director, DHSE, Joint Directors Sasmita Mali and Snigdha Mishra, and Deputy Director C.H. Vijayalakshmi.
Addressing the participants, Smt. Rout urged teachers to inspire students and shape responsible citizens for the nation. She emphasised that teachers carry the responsibility of guiding young minds toward integrity and excellence.
Director Smt. Pattnaik highlighted the importance of higher secondary education in academic and career growth. She encouraged teachers to continuously upgrade their knowledge and skills, noting that the induction training would strengthen their teaching effectiveness.
Joint Director Smt. Mali delivered the welcome address and outlined the workshop’s objectives. Deputy Director Smt. Vijayalakshmi coordinated the event, while Joint Director Smt. Mishra proposed the vote of thanks.
The second phase of the induction programme runs from June 16 to June 20, 2026, covering subjects like Odia, English, and Education. Sessions include modules on National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, ICT in teaching, Odisha Education Rules, SAMS and Shikshajyoti portals, POSH Act, scholarship schemes, administrative duties, evaluation procedures, and career guidance.
