Standing 182 metres tall against the skyline of Gujarat, the world’s tallest monument—the Statue of Unity—served as the backdrop where ancient Indian craft met the dynamic pulse of modern digital storytelling.
A delegation of ten prominent digital content creators and social media influencers from Odisha arrived at Bharat Parv 2026 to bring centuries-old state heritage directly into the digital feeds of millions.
Organised under the aegis of the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Bhubaneswar, the initiative was conceived to celebrate the living ethos of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ by spotlighting regional artistic mastery within a grand national canvas.
The fortnight-long extravaganza, hosted by the Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with Gujarat Tourism and supported by various States and Union Territories, runs from November 1 to 15, 2026. Inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi as part of the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas celebrations, the festival serves as a premier national platform designed to foster patriotic fervour, showcase civilisational diversity, and promote the holistic spirit of ‘Dekho Apna Desh’.
The festival provided the creators with an expansive canvas—from the base of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s statue to the mist-covered canopies of the local Rain Forest and the 17-acre sanctuary of Arogya Van, where India’s ancient Ayurvedic traditions converge with sustainable eco-tourism.
At the Bharat Parv Theme Pavilion, Odisha’s master artisans captivated national audiences at the One District One Product (ODOP) pavilion. The digital storytellers documented live demonstrations of intricate, timeless Pattachitra scroll paintings alongside the delicate silver filigree (Tarakasi) of Cuttack. Exhibited side by side with sister traditions—such as Gujarat’s Rogan art, Kashmir’s Sozni needlework, and Andhra Pradesh’s Kalamkari—the showcase became a focal point for the creators’ ‘Vocal for Local’ campaigns, translating grassroots rural craftsmanship into compelling online narratives.
Adding another dimension to their immersion, the delegation visited the Ekta Prakash Parv, a night-time celebration of light and innovation that illuminates the architectural splendour of the Narmada valley. Through cutting-edge illumination and laser-and-light choreography, creators captured how modern visual arts and sustainable technology are woven together to narrate Sardar Patel’s enduring legacy of national cohesion.
As evening fell over the Narmada valley, the experience expanded into the open-air amphitheatre and curated food zone, featuring regional delicacies from twenty-four States and UTs alongside electrifying cultural performances. Alongside classical Kuchipudi, Assamese Bihu, energetic Purulia Chhau, and Gujarati Garba, the stage came alive with the spirited rhythms and vibrant footwork of Odisha’s iconic Sambalpuri dance, drawing thunderous applause.
Through cinematic reels, immersive vlogs, and photo-essays, the Odisha influencers demonstrated that while India’s artistic expressions span countless traditions, they converge seamlessly into a unified national identity.
