Odisha Manaska resumed its monthly discussion circle on March 22 with its 19th edition at Extraordinary and Safe Odisha for Her headquarters in Saheed Nagar, Bhubaneswar.
Organised by All Things Odisha, the session focused on “Women’s Autonomy, Environmental Sustainability, and Cultural Livelihood: An Odisha Perspective.”
Over 25 participants from diverse fields, including students, development professionals, and social researchers, joined the dialogue. They shared personal experiences, research insights, and stories highlighting how climate change impacts women and influences cultural practices.
Renowned journalist Aishwarya Mohanty and development professional Jasmin Giri contributed perspectives from their work on climate change, migration, and gender inequality. They emphasised the intersection of environment and women’s empowerment, drawing from field studies and lived experiences.
Participants discussed challenges faced by women in rural communities, cultural resilience, and the importance of sustainable practices. They exchanged views respectfully, listening to one another and enriching the conversation with varied opinions.
The session was moderated by Sandeep Bal and Sonali Priyadarshini, who guided the dialogue and ensured inclusive participation. Odisha Manaska continues to serve as a platform for collective reflection on pressing social issues, blending cultural identity with contemporary challenges.
