Delhi Police Special Cell arrested nine suspected terrorists allegedly linked to Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and elements of the Mumbai underworld.

Officials said the accused were planning attacks on vital installations and security personnel in Delhi and other major cities.

Investigators revealed that the suspects were acting under the direction of handlers across the border. The group had been tasked with carrying out targeted strikes to create panic and disrupt security.

Police recovered a cache of arms and explosives, including sophisticated pistols and grenades, from the accused. Preliminary investigation confirmed that the suspects were in touch with Pakistan-backed operatives and were receiving instructions regarding potential targets.

Sources said the arrested individuals belong to Delhi, Maharashtra, and Punjab. Some foreign nationals are also among those detained, though their identities remain undisclosed.

Officials are probing links between the accused and the Mumbai underworld. Security agencies suspect that criminal channels were used for logistics, funding, and movement of operatives.

The Special Cell is examining financial trails, communication records, and the wider network associated with the module. Agencies are working to determine whether additional operatives are active elsewhere and whether reconnaissance of targets had already taken place.

Authorities described the arrests as a significant breakthrough in preventing a possible terror plot. Security has been tightened at sensitive locations, and intelligence agencies continue to assess the scale of the network and its cross-border connections.
