Kandhamal: Employees of a Kerala-bound bus were allegedly beaten up by a local sarpanch at Chanchedi village under K Nuagaan block in Kandhamal district.
The sarpanch has been identified as Raj Kishore Pradhan.
As per available reports, the accused intercepted the private bus carrying migrant labourers mid-way for Aadhar card inspection. However, the sarpanch immediately resorted to violence and allegedly thrashed the bus driver and other staff on the road in the name of identity verification.
Meanwhile, few spectators recorded a video of the incident, which later went viral on social media.
While the bus employees have not lodged any complaint with the police, the Sarpanch had filed an FIR alleging attack by the bus employees.
Based on the complaint of the sarpanch, police arrested three persons after registering a case.
As per complaint, the sarpanch said that he discussed with the labourers who were going outside the State without an Aadhar card following which some of them had attacked him.
