A youth was shot at Karamdihi under Sadar police limits in Sundargarh district.
Some unidentified miscreants came in a black Scorpio and fired 5 rounds at the youth. The youth was shot in the leg and the miscreants fled from the scene. The injured youth has been admitted to the Sundargarh District Headquarters Hospital. The reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained.
It is worth noting that there have been 3 shootings in Sundargarh within a month since this incident. On January 31, a youth named Suraj Patel was shot at in Bhasma Police Station Sardhapali. He was shifted to the Sundargarh District Head Hospital in a critical condition and later to Rourkela. Currently, he is undergoing treatment there.
While it is suspected that this incident happened in connection with the NTPC Tapaz Vidyut Project waste ash transportation business, The Lefripada police are continuing their efforts to catch the miscreants of the district.
On January 7, the same type of incident took place behind the JDR Hotel adjacent to the town police station. In this, a youth named Raj Yadav (25), a resident of Sunaripada, Sundargarh, was seriously injured. While he was sitting near a pond behind the Raj Hotel, some miscreants came and shot at him between 8 pm and 8:30 pm and fled. The bullet lodged in his left leg. He was immediately taken to the Sundargarh Hospital and later shifted to Rourkela.
