Bhubaneswar: Several parts of Odisha experienced rain and foggy weather on Tuesday morning. Light to moderate intermittent rainfall was reported in Khurda, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Puri, and Jajpur experienced foggy and overcast skies.
In addition to the state capital Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, several areas in Kurda, Puri, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, and Jatsinghpur also encountered foggy weather, while the sky remained overcast.
According to the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar, light to moderate rain is in eleven districts throughout the day primarily due to western disturbance and a cyclonic circulation over the Indian Ocean adjacent to the Bay of Bengal.
The India Meteorological (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for districts such as Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Sundargarh, Deogarh, and Sambalpur.
Light to moderate rain occurs in several locations within the state due to the movement of the western disturbance cloud mass along the Odisha coast.
While foggy conditions typically prevail during the early morning and late evening in winter, the current cloud movement at low altitudes is causing drizzle and dense fog.
The agency indicated that the low-pressure area over the southeast Bay of Bengal and adjacent Indian Ocean is likely to continue moving west-northward and reach the southwest Bay of Bengal off the co of Sri Lanka and Tamil Nadu around December 11 bringing overcast skies and foggy weather to coastal Odisha.
