Puri: A tourist guide and associate of servitors at Shree Jagannath Temple was arrested for allegedly harassing sexually to a minor boy.
The accused (42), Sudarshan Mishra is a resident of Harachandi sahi in the pilgrim town. Mishra was allegedly harassing sexually to a 13-year-old boy who was pursuing vedic education at Sanskrit toll managed by the Srimandir Puja Panda Niyog.
The boy alleged that Mishra had tortured him sexually at an undisclosed place by taking advantage of his loneliness.
The boy has been subjected to same offence for the last one and a half months. The boy visits to the srimandir campus to learn vedic rituals every day. On Tuesday, Mishra had taken him to an undisclosed place near Niladri Vihar Museum and tortured him sexually, he alleged.
On the same day, the boy met the police at Singhdwar police station and narrated the ordeal before them.
Based on his complaint, police registered a case and arrested the accused under section 10 of POCSO Act and section 377, 511.
Mishra had been produced before a local POCSO court and later sent to judicial custody after his bail petition was rejected.
