With the decades-old border dispute between Odisha and Andhra Pradesh over the Kotia region flaring up once again, the district administration has moved into action mode.
Koraput Sub-Collector Fabi Rasheed, IAS, visited the Kotia area, holding direct interactions with local residents, inquiring about their problems, and assessing ground realities.
The visit comes at a time when discussions have intensified in the border area following Andhra Pradesh’s notification for panchayat elections in three villages of the Kotia gram panchayat (Phagunasineri, Ganjeipadar and Phatusineri) in Pottangi block of Koraput district. Against this backdrop, the administration’s outreach in Kotia is being seen as significant.
The Odisha administration is prioritising the strengthening of its presence in Kotia while ensuring that residents receive all government benefits and facilities.
