Bigg Boss 20 has barely begun, but the house is already proving that personal conversations can become as dramatic as the tasks.
In a candid exchange with Isha Rikhi and Mary Kom, television actor Mahhi Vij jokingly dubbed the Salman Khan-hosted season a “divorcee special”, referring to the personal journeys of the three women.
Mahhi, who has separated from actor Jay Bhanushali, was discussing relationships and what she described as a “second innings” in life when she made the remark to Isha.
“Tell me who has an affair with whom outside,” Mahhi said before joking that there were “three divorcees” in the house — herself, Isha and Mary Kom.
She added that their “second innings” was already underway, calling the season a “divorcee special”.
Isha Rikhi wants to be known for herself
The conversation took a more serious turn when Mahhi asked Isha why she chose to enter Bigg Boss 20.
Isha explained that she had intentionally maintained a private life and wanted audiences to know her beyond her relationships.
“A lot of people don’t know me because I have always been a little private,” she said.
Mahhi pointed out that Isha had been widely discussed online over the previous two months.
Isha, however, made her motivation clear: she did not want her public identity to revolve around being someone’s girlfriend or wife.
“I don’t want people to know me as someone’s girlfriend or wife. I want to be known for my name and identity,” she said.
Her comment struck a familiar chord in celebrity culture, where an actor’s personal relationships can sometimes overshadow their professional identity.
Mary Kom draws a line around her private life
Mahhi also attempted to bring Mary Kom into the conversation about relationships and separation.
The boxing champion, however, made it clear that she did not want to discuss her private life.
Mahhi suggested that conversations about former partners do not necessarily have to be negative and could also involve positive memories.
But the subject appeared to make Isha uncomfortable. She questioned why Mahhi was repeatedly returning to a sensitive topic that both women had chosen not to discuss.
The exchange added an unexpectedly serious moment to what had initially been a light-hearted conversation.
Bigg Boss 20 starts with drama
The latest season of Bigg Boss premiered on September 6 with Salman Khan introducing the 16 contestants.
The opening episodes have already featured arguments, personal revelations and the beginnings of alliances inside the house.
A captaincy task has also taken place, with Qazi Touqeer serving as the sanchalak.
With contestants gradually opening up about their lives, relationships and ambitions, the “second innings” conversation between Mahhi, Isha and Mary suggests that the season could explore more than the usual reality-show rivalries.
For Isha, it is about creating an identity separate from her relationships. For Mahhi, it is a new chapter after separation. And for Mary Kom, at least for now, some parts of her personal life remain firmly off-limits.
In the Bigg Boss house, however, even a boundary can become part of the drama.
