Delivering a fiery keynote address on the opening day of the NDTV World Summit 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party.
Addressing global leaders, policymakers, and industry executives in New Delhi, the Prime Minister asserted that while the international community is actively seeking a stable global order, certain domestic political forces remain bent on fueling disorder inside the nation.
PM Modi accused the principal opposition party of operating like a “parasite” that systematically stalls constructive political voices and harms the nation’s global reputation.
Taking a sharp swipe at the repeated re-branding efforts of opposition leadership, he remarked that the rocket launch facilities at Sriharikota do not see as many launches in a year as the number of unsuccessful attempts made by the Congress to “launch its leader.”
He further criticized leaders who travel abroad to critique domestic institutions, emphasizing that attempting to shield a single political family from failure should never come at the expense of India’s international standing and developmental progress.
