Cuttack: Three persons including a patient were critically injured after an ambulance carrying them hit a stationary trailer near Jaipur road on Cuttack-Paradip road in Jagatsinghpur district in the wee hours of Saturday.
All the seriously injured have been admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
According to report, a ‘108’ ambulance of Kujang Medical Center was on its way to Cuttack from Paradip Health Centre.The speeding ambulance was hit by the trailer.
The intensity of the collision was so high that the roof of the ambulance was blown off. The driver, pharmacist and another patient were injured.
Police rushed to the spot after receiving information. Later, injured were shifted to Cuttack in another ambulance. The injured are under treatment and doing fine, informed the District Chief Medical Officer.
The accident is said to have occurred due to dense fog.
