1999 Gang-Rape Case: Test Identification Parade Of Accused Biban Biswal Today

Bhubaneswar: The test identification (TI) parade of Biban Biswal, the prime accused in 1999 Baranga gang-rape case, is scheduled to be held at Jharpada special jail here today (Wednesday).

The court of special chief judicial magistrate (CBI) on Tuesday allowed the CBI to go for the TI parade and granted a 2-day police remand of the accused.

According to reports, the CBI will take the survivor to the jail and the TI parade of the accused will be conducted in presence of the JMFC. No police officer will be allowed to stay during the TI parade, reports added.

Sources said the TI parade would be conducted around 12 pm in a special room at the jail.

Worth mentioning, Biswal, who had been on the run since committing the offence on January 9, 1999, was nabbed from Lonavala in Maharashtra.
