J&K: A gunfight was exchanged between the security forces and terrorists in J&K’s Sopore area on Thursday evening, said the officials.
Following a tip-off, security forces isolated the area and started a search operation in the Nowpora locality of the Sopore area in Baramulla district.
As the security forces approached the terrorists’ hideout, the terrorists opened fire, triggering an ongoing encounter, according to an official statement.
Meanwhile, a search operation is currently underway in a forested region of the Bandipora area to locate terrorists. This operation continues after an incident on Wednesday where two soldiers were wounded when the terrorists fired upon the security forces.
