Iran has launched two waves of missile and drone strikes on multiple targets across central and northern Israel. The attack comes in response to U.S. airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities earlier this week.
According to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), suicide drones and ballistic missiles were deployed in retaliation. Iranian state media reported that key strategic sites, including Ben Gurion International Airport and urban centres like Holon and Beit She’an, were targeted.
Israel’s rescue services confirmed that at least 11 individuals sustained injuries during the strikes, including casualties from a residential building that caught fire in central Israel. Authorities have urged citizens to stay in shelters as air raid sirens continue to sound across impacted zones.
This marks Day 10 of the intensifying conflict, which began with mutual threats and now includes cross-border strikes and international involvement. Following the attack, Israel conducted retaliatory air raids in Iranian cities, including Tehran and Isfahan, reportedly aiming at missile stockpiles and military infrastructure.
The U.S. Department of Defence confirmed its earlier operation targeted Iran’s nuclear development sites, citing concerns over regional security and nuclear proliferation risks. Washington has called on both nations to de-escalate, but tensions continue to rise as the situation unfolds.
Global leaders are voicing concern over the potential for a wider war in the region. Diplomatic efforts are underway, but both sides remain entrenched.
