Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow warning of heatwaves in five districts of Odisha till the next 24 hours.
The districts that are likely to experience heatwave condition are – Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir, Khordha and Nayagarh.
The MeT forecast that the Maximum temperature (Day Temperature) is very likely to gradually rise by 3 to 5 °C at many places over the districts of Interior Odisha.
With heatwave condition prevailing across Odisha during scorching summer, Bhubaneswar yesterday recorded 43 degree Celsius, becoming the hottest place in the State for second consecutive day.
The mercury touched 43 degree Celsius in Bhubaneswar by 2.30 pm today, the Regional Meteorological Centre informed.
