Berhampur: Police here on Monday recovered a highly decomposed body of a woman from near Ratnei hill in S Gopalpur village under Patapur police limits in Ganjam district.
According to sources, the matter came to light after some locals spotted the body in the morning. On being informed, police reached the spot and seized the body.
Two anklets and bangles were also recovered from the spot.
While the exact reason behind the death of the woman is yet to be ascertained, preliminary investigation suggests the woman was murdered following which her body was burned with acid.
