Cuttack: In a fresh drive, the Odisha Transport department officials confucted raids in several schools in Cuttack in order to check underage driving.
Reportedly, the action was initiated following complaints of minor students riding scooters/bikes to school.
Following the raid, at least 9 vehicles were seized & owners were slapped with a fine Rs 25,000 each.
While Transport Department claims to have intensified its action against underage driving, thanks to the irresponsibility on the part of many school authorities and parents, students continue to have dangerous ride to and fro from schools.
