Two women were apprehended for allegedly stealing mobile phones from the crowds during the Eid rush in Bhubaneswar.

The suspects, identified as Dropadi Singh (19) and Puja Singh (20), both hailing from Purulia, West Bengal, were arrested at Bhubaneswar Railway Station while attempting to flee the city.

The investigation, led by Capital Police Station, resulted in the recovery of five stolen mobile phones from the duo’s possession. With three separate cases registered in connection with the theft, authorities acted swiftly to apprehend the suspects. The incident occurred amidst large gatherings for Eid celebrations, where the accused allegedly exploited the rush to carry out their crimes.
