Following a surge in visitor numbers at Kainchi Dham—the spiritual ashram and Hanuman temple in Uttarakhand associated with Neem Karoli Baba—Hanuman Ansh director Dr. Vishal Chaturvedi has issued a public video appeal urging devotees to check local traffic and crowd conditions before embarking on their journey.
The sudden spike in footfall at the Nainital shrine coincides with the release of the biopic drama Hanuman Ansh alongside a three-day holiday weekend combining Gandhi Jayanti on October 2 with the weekend.
Visuals across social media platforms showed heavy vehicle queues along key Uttarakhand transit corridors, including the Mussoorie-Dehradun route and roads leading toward Kainchi Dham, as thousands of visitors traveled from Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab.
Addressing the overcrowding in an Instagram video message, Dr. Chaturvedi urged travelers to prioritize safety and avoid creating situations where families, children, and senior citizens face extreme traffic jams and suffocating crowd conditions. He suggested that pilgrims unable to reach Kainchi Dham comfortably consider visiting other significant sites connected to the mystic saint, such as Neem Karoli village or shrines in Vrindavan, until local administrative conditions normalize.
