A violent dispute over land led to a tragic incident of fratricide in Kushraloi Adhapada Khaparapada village under the Lakhanpur police jurisdiction of Jharsuguda district on Sunday.
The victim has been identified as Sudarshan Oram, while the accused has been identified as his brother, Kishore Oram.
According to preliminary reports, an argument erupted between the two brothers over a long-standing land dispute. As the altercation escalated, Kishore Oram reportedly attacked his brother Sudarshan with a wooden plank, inflicting critical injuries that resulted in his death on the spot.
Upon receiving information about the incident, officers from the Lakhanpur police station reached the crime scene. Police have taken accused Kishore Oram into custody and launched an investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding the fatal assault.
