Koraput police and the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) have intensified their investigation into the financial misconduct of Raja Chakra, leading to the seizure of his fleet of 14 tippers and a JCB in Semiliguda.
The Gandhamardhan Loading Agency, led by Raja Chakra, has come under the scanner for allegedly misusing funds earmarked for local development. Despite reporting Rs 185 crore in profits between 2017 and 2024, the agency failed to conduct audits for over a decade. Funds were allegedly redirected to Raja’s personal ventures, including a petrol pump, while labour wages and loading costs revealed significant discrepancies.
The police have further confiscated two passenger vehicles and 40 trucks linked to Raja and his wife, Rupali Patnaik. Investigations are ongoing, with over 90 vehicles under review. Raja Chakra’s screening plants have also been taken into custody, marking a major step in addressing the financial embezzlement case.
