Two Odia Players in Indian Youth Camp for FIVB Volleyball Men’s U-21 World Championship in Bahrain
The Indian Men U-21 Volleyball team will be participating in the FIVB Volleyball Men’s U-21 World Championship to be held in Manama, Bahrain from 07th to 16th July, 2023. Volleyball Federation of India (VFI) has entrusted Odisha Volleyball Association (OVA) to conduct the coaching camp of the Indian U-21 Men Volleyball Team.
The Coaching Camp will be held at Biju Patnaik Indoor Stadium, KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, Odisha from 10th May to 04th June, 2023. Two Odia players M.D. RAZA of Kendrapada & RAJ KINDO of Rourkela have been selected for their previous performances.
The Indian U-21 team qualified for the World Championship after clinching Silver Medal in the 21st Asian Men’s U-20 Volleyball Championship at Riffa, Bahrain, 2022 after a gap of 20 years. The Coaching Camp was held at Biju Patnaik Indoor Stadium, KIIT University, Bhubaneswar.
Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Kandhamal, President, Volleyball Federation of India and Founder KIIT & KISS has taken the vital role to promote the players with all the smooth support in the coaching camp held in last year. He also expressed his happiness that 2 Odia players are selected in the Indian Coaching Camp and also extended his good wishes for the World Championship and assured to provide all kinds of help and support for preparation of the teams for the World Championship at KIIT University, Bhubaneswar.
The 16 teams participating in the FIVB Volleyball Men’s U-21 World Championship to be held in Manama, Bahrain from 07th to 16th July, 2023 are as follows:
POOL-A : BAHRAIN (Host), IRAN, THAILAND, TUNISIA,
POOL-B : ITALY, BRAZIL, EGYPT, MEXICO,
POOL-C : POLAND, BULGARIA, CANADA, INDIA,
POOL-D : ARGENTINA, BELGIUM, CZECHIA, UNITED STATES.
