A two-month-old baby boy went missing from a brick kiln near Soro in Balasore district on Wednesday, sparking panic among workers and locals.
The incident occurred at Champu Chhak, where a woman placed her infant in a cloth cradle inside the kiln premises before resuming work. When she returned, the cradle was empty, and her child had vanished. She immediately searched the area and informed the kiln owner. Together, they lodged a complaint at the Soro police station.
Investigators suspect that someone entered the kiln premises from the rear side, where no boundary wall exists, and kidnapped the baby. Police registered a case and launched a search operation. Officers are examining possible leads and questioning workers in the vicinity.
