New Delhi: Three nurses from Odisha among 51 from across the nation on Monday received the prestigious Florence Nightingale Awards from President Droupadi Murmu at a special function at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Odisha’s Jhulana Barik and Shibani Dash in nurse category and Damayanti Rouit in ANM category received the coveted award.
President Murmu presented the Awards for the year 2021 to the Nursing professionals.
Out of 51 who were awarded on the occasion, 17 are ANMs, four LHVs and 30 nurses.
The National Florence Nightingale Awards were instituted in the year 1973 by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India as a mark of recognition for the meritorious services rendered by the nurses and nursing professionals to the society.
