In a remarkable feat at the Miami Open 2025, 19-year-old Jakub Mensik defeated the legendary Novak Djokovic in straight sets (7-6, 7-6) to claim his first ATP Tour title.
Mensik, the second-youngest titlist in the tournament’s history, showcased incredible composure and skill to overcome both his opponent and a nearly six-hour rain delay in Florida. The victory denied Djokovic his milestone 100th tour-level title.
“It feels incredible, obviously,” Mensik shared during his on-court interview. “It was probably the biggest day of my life, and I’m super happy to have performed so well and kept my nerves under control.” This historic win marks Mensik’s emergence as a rising star in the tennis world, earning him a place in the sport’s elite.
