Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal on Wednesday offered prayers at the revered Shree Jagannath Temple to commemorate Prime Minister Narendra Modi becoming India’s longest-serving continuously elected Prime Minister.

Speaking to reporters after offering darshan at the 12th-century shrine, Meghwal described the occasion as a historic moment for the country and its democratic journey. He said Prime Minister Modi has achieved the distinction of serving as an elected representative and Prime Minister for the longest continuous period in India’s history.

The Union Minister noted that the Prime Minister’s tenure has been marked by a strong emphasis on development, governance reforms, and welfare-oriented initiatives. He added that India has witnessed significant progress across various sectors under Modi’s leadership.

“I prayed to Lord Jagannath for the prosperity of the nation and the good health and long life of the Prime Minister,” Meghwal said after the temple visit.

Following the darshan, the minister lit a ceremonial lamp near the historic Aruna Stambha within the temple premises. The event was attended by local BJP leaders, party workers, supporters, and the Puri Member of Parliament.

Special Prayers Held Nationwide

Meghwal further stated that special prayers and religious ceremonies were being organised at temples across India to mark the Prime Minister’s milestone tenure and to seek blessings for his continued service to the nation.

Prime Minister Modi completed 4,399 days in office on Wednesday, surpassing all previous records for a continuously elected Prime Minister. The achievement has been celebrated by leaders and supporters across the country, with several events and programmes being organised by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

Significance Of The Milestone

Political leaders from across the NDA have described the achievement as a reflection of public trust in Modi’s leadership. The Prime Minister’s tenure has witnessed major initiatives in infrastructure development, digital transformation, welfare delivery, economic reforms, and India’s growing global presence.

The celebrations coincided with meetings of NDA leaders and chief ministers in New Delhi, where discussions are expected to focus on governance achievements and the roadmap for a developed India.
