Security forces arrested Ashar Danish, a suspected ISIS operative, from Islamnagar in Ranchi on Wednesday.
Danish, originally from Petwar in Bokaro district, was apprehended following a long-standing investigation initiated by the Delhi Special Cell.
The arrest was the result of a joint effort involving the Delhi Special Cell, Jharkhand Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), and Ranchi Police. Authorities had been tracking Danish for months based on a case registered in Delhi. His capture marks a significant milestone in the ongoing crackdown on extremist networks operating within India.
Simultaneously, another suspected ISIS affiliate named Aftab was detained in Delhi, as part of a broader sweep across more than 12 locations nationwide. Over eight individuals have been taken into custody during these raids, signaling intensified efforts by central agencies to dismantle terror cells.
Interrogation of Danish is currently underway, with officials hoping to extract critical intelligence that could lead to further arrests and prevention of potential threats.
