Bhubaneswar: The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch today seized brown sugar worth more than Rs one crore in Khurda district on Saturday.
According to sources, the STF raided a place in Baghmari police station area this evening and seized the contraband weighing about 1 kg estimated to worth around Rs 1 crore.
The STF has reportedly apprehended a brown sugar smuggler, Suresh Mahapatra, on the charge of selling the banned narcotics.
However, no further information has been given by the STF as more investigation in this regard in underway. The STF will provide further details on Sunday, sources added.
