Subarnapur: A Soil Conservation Overseer in Subarnapur district has been arrested by Odisha Vigilance on Saturday for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 11,000.
The accused has been identified as Sudhanshu Sekhar Rana, Soil Conservation Overseer, Ulunda Block, Dist- Subarnapur.
Rana has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.11,000 at Patabhadi Chowk, Sonepur from a beneficiary ( Complainant) for facilitating the release of the final bill for completion of work under the “Excavation of Farm Pond” scheme. The entire tainted bribe money has been recovered from the possession of the accused and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations in Rana from a DA angle.
In this connection, Sambalpur Vigilance PS Case No. 18 dt.02.08.2024 U/s 7 PC (Amendment)Act, 2018 has been registered. The investigation is in progress against the accused.
