Puri: The Chaturdhamurati, Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra and Chakraraj Sudarshan, took holy bath in water perfumed with chandan, Karpura Chua and other herbal products on the Snan Mandap (Bathing Platform) on the occasion of Debasnan Purnima this morning.
Garabadu Sevaks brought 108 pitchers of water from the Swarna Kupa (Golden Well) first. Then the deities took bath. As per traditions, Lord Jagannath took bath in 35 pitchers of water, Lord Balabhadra in 33 pitchers of water, Devi Subhadra in 22 pitchers and Chakraraj Sudarshan in 18 pitchers of water.
Earlier, the deities had been brought in Goti Pahandi and seated on the Snan Mandap(bathing platform) and then all important rituals of the deities like Mangala Alati, Mailama, Tadapalagi, Adhara Pochha have been completed.
