In an electrifying encounter at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Gujarat Titans (GT) secured a remarkable 8-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Match 14 of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
Riding high on the performances of Mohammed Siraj, Jos Buttler, and Sai Sudharsan, GT demonstrated their dominance and climbed to the fourth spot in the points table.
Opting to bat first, RCB faced early setbacks as Mohammed Siraj’s fiery spell (3/19) dismantled the top order, leaving them struggling at 42/4 post the powerplay. Despite a valiant 54 from Liam Livingstone and a late surge by Tim David (32 off 18), RCB could only muster 169/8 in 20 overs. Siraj and Sai Kishore (2/22) were instrumental in keeping the scoring under control, showcasing exceptional bowling precision.
GT’s chase was steady yet assertive, with Jos Buttler leading the charge with an unbeaten 73 off 39 balls, including boundary-laden strokes. He was well-supported by Sai Sudharsan, who contributed an impressive 49 off 36 deliveries. The pair dismantled RCB’s bowling attack, ensuring GT reached the target with ease in just 17.5 overs.
The win not only marked GT’s second consecutive victory but also highlighted their all-round prowess in both batting and bowling. With this triumph, they have established themselves as formidable contenders for the IPL 2025 title.
