Bhubaneswar: As many as seven cities in interior Odisha recorded maximum day temperature of 40 °C or above, informed the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre on Monday.
As per the latest IMD bulletin, Bolangir was the hottest place in the state today with 41 °C temperature followed by Baripada at 40.8 °C, Titlagarh at 40.5 °C, Talcher at 40.2 °C, Angul at 40.1 °C, Sonepur 40.1 °C, and Boudh 40 °C.
Besides, the day temperature recorded in the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack stood at 37.2 °C and 37 °C respectively.
In its evening forecast, the IMD regional centre here said that there will be no large change in Maximum Day temperature during the next two days in the districts of Odisha.
However, the temperature will gradually rise by 2 to 3 °C at a few places over the districts of interior Odisha and continue for subsequent 2 to 3 days, the Met centre said.
Further, the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre said that the heatwave conditions are likely to prevail on 31st March and 1st April.
