Puri: Keeping in view the resurgence of coronavirus pandemic in the state, Section 144 has been clamped by the Puri district administration at Kakatpur Maa Mangala Temple on Tuesday.
The step has been adopted to prevent public gathering in view of Jhamu Jatra which is slated be observed today.
The Kakatpur Jhamu Yatra Mela is among the popular festival not only in the region but also in the state. Jhamu Yatra is the most significant procession of this region and it is celebrated on the first Tuesday of the sacred month Vaisakha every year and is celebrated for five Tuesdays in a row.
The temple at Kakatpur is a famous place for worship to Goddess Mangala or Durga. The temple is located at a distance of 65 km from the capital city of Odisha and 50 Km from Puri.
