Sachin Tendulkar shared a heartfelt message for his son Arjun Tendulkar after the young pacer finally received his opportunity in IPL 2026 with Lucknow Super Giants.
Arjun made his debut for LSG during their final league-stage match against Punjab Kings after waiting the entire season for a chance.
Although LSG lost the match, Arjun impressed with his composure and picked up an important wicket on debut.
Sachin’s Emotional Message for Arjun
Following the match, Sachin posted an emotional message praising his son’s patience and resilience throughout the season.
According to the post, Sachin said he was proud of how Arjun had stayed positive, continued working hard quietly and remained prepared despite waiting until the final match of the season for an opportunity.
The legendary batter also reminded him to stay grounded and continue enjoying the game.
The message quickly gained attention among cricket fans, many of whom appreciated the emotional support from the former India captain.
Arjun’s Long Wait in IPL
Arjun’s IPL journey has largely been about patience.
During his time with Mumbai Indians between 2022 and 2025, he featured in only a handful of matches despite spending multiple seasons with the squad.
After moving to LSG for IPL 2026, he once again had to spend most of the season on the bench before finally being included in the playing XI.
His opportunity came after LSG had already been eliminated from playoff contention.
How Arjun Performed Against Punjab Kings
LSG captain Rishabh Pant introduced Arjun immediately after the powerplay.
The left-arm pacer made an encouraging start:

- Conceded only four runs in his opening over

However, Punjab Kings batters later attacked him aggressively in his second spell.
Despite the pressure, Arjun produced a superb yorker to dismiss Prabhsimran Singh and claim his first wicket for LSG.

Punjab Kings comfortably completed the chase thanks to strong batting performances from their top order.
