Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance on Friday apprehended the Revenue Inspector (RI) of Jaypur Circle under Badampahad Tehsil in Mayurbhanj district while taking Rs 5,000 bribe.
According to Vigilance, Jaypur Circle RI Rakesh Kumar Patra was apprehended while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 5000 from a Complainant in order to demarcate his 5 plots under Badampahad Tahasil.
The entire bribe money has been recovered from the exclusive possession of accused RI Patra. Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations from the DA angle.
In this connection, Balasore Vigilance P.S. Case No.24 dt.31.08.2023 U/s 7 P.C. (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and an investigation is in progress against the accused RI Rakesh Kumar Patra.
