The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has introduced a verified WhatsApp channel under its ongoing ‘RBI Kehta Hai’ public awareness program, aiming to provide timely and authentic information to users across India.

This initiative targets individuals in remote and less-connected areas who are most vulnerable to misinformation and fraud.

The WhatsApp channel will share updates on digital banking practices, scam avoidance, customer rights, and policy changes. Users can subscribe by scanning a QR code shared on RBI’s official website and social media platforms. With India’s increasing reliance on WhatsApp for communication, this effort ensures financial literacy reaches households effectively.

The RBI emphasizes that its verified WhatsApp account aims to build public trust and provide critical information seamlessly, further contributing to a safer financial ecosystem for all.
