Phasiguda village in Ganjam, Odisha, was shaken by a tragic discovery on April 12, 2025. The lifeless body of Archita Bishoyi, a transgender performer renowned for her role in traditional Danda Nacha festivals, was found in a locked house under mysterious circumstances.

Archita, celebrated for her devotion-infused performances, had stayed overnight in the village after participating in a Danda Nacha celebration. Her untimely death has left the community grappling with grief and unanswered questions.

Local police were swift to begin investigations, recovering the body and sending it for post-mortem analysis. Initial findings suggest no physical assault, though the cause of death remains unknown. Authorities have assured a comprehensive probe into the case, considering all angles—natural death, suicide, or foul play.

Her passing has left an indelible void in the community, with residents and festival organizers remembering her talent, warmth, and the joy she brought through her performances. As investigations continue, the village mourns an artist whose presence resonated deeply with those she touched.
